NIMASO Tips: Choose the best protective film for your iPad

NIMASO豆知識:自分のiPadに最適な保護フィルムを選べましょう

"Is it difficult to use a stylus on an iPad with a glass screen protector?"

"What is the sound that comes from the paper-like film?"

"Which is better, paper-like film or glass film?"

I'm sure there are many people who are worried about this, and NIMASO has had similar concerns.

Previously, NIMASO thought it would be nice to have both a glass screen protector that would firmly protect the iPad display and a paper-like screen protector that would allow illustrations to be drawn comfortably. However, as we actually use the iPad, we begin to question whether it is really necessary to have both. No matter how much the iPad evolves, we still use it according to our needs.

If that's the case, then the problem mentioned at the beginning is not a problem.

NIMASO will show you how to choose the best screen protector for your iPad based on your typical usage patterns!

First step: Model confirmation

When choosing a screen protector for your iPad, the first thing to check is whether it is compatible with your model. There are various iPad models, such as the iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Each model has a different screen size, so choose one that is compatible with your iPad.

Here are two ways to check your iPad screen size:

  • The iPad model number is "on the back of the iPad"

On the back of the iPad, you will see the word "iPad." Below that, you will see a small string of characters. The four-digit number starting with A is the model number.

  • Check from iPad settings

Go to [Settings] > [General] > [About], and the part number will be displayed under [Model Number]. Tap this to check the model number (a four-digit number starting with A).

[NIMASO Paper-Like Film ] For those who want to draw on their iPad

As the name suggests, paper-like film is a "paper-like LCD protective film."

The iPad screen has a smooth surface, which can make it difficult to write or draw on. NIMASO's paper-like film has a rough surface that feels like paper.

Furthermore, using the stylus makes it feel like you're writing on paper, making it popular among people who use their iPads to take notes and draw illustrations.

This is especially recommended for students who use iPads as notebooks during lectures.

Since paper-like films are LCD protective films, they do of course protect the iPad's display, but because the surface of paper-like films is rough, the screen visibility can be reduced, the stylus tip can be worn down, and it can be difficult to operate with your fingers.

On the other hand, in such cases we recommend NIMASO glass film.

[ NIMASO Glass Film] For those who want to watch movies and dramas on their iPad

Glass screen protectors have a glossier, more beautiful finish than sheet-type screen protectors. They have a luxurious feel that only glass screen protectors can offer, and are recommended for watching movies and dramas on your iPad with a vivid screen.

Glass films are stronger and more impact-resistant than paper-like films, making them more durable. Furthermore, glass films are thicker and stronger, making them popular among those who want to protect their screens.

The iPad is heavy and may fall. Impacts can cause the film to crack, but NIMASO's glass film can prevent the LCD screen from cracking. Even if the film does crack, the adhesive sheet on the adhesive part is often designed to prevent shattering.

Both paper-like film and glass film have their own advantages and disadvantages, so choose the one that best suits your needs.
